Was Johns body found with or without winter coat? The fact that he was bitten by the dog implies he dint wear a coat. So he had gone inside, settled down by removing the coat, then got hit or bitten by dog. Then was put out in the curb? Not sure his body was found with or without coat. His coat should have been in the house or somebody wore him the coat and put him out in the curb..

There were unlocked guns all around my house growing up in the seventies. Knowing what my dad would do to me kept me from touching them.

7 years old, give or take a year, has long been considered the age of reason. Unless he's developmentally disabled or insane, he's responsible for his actions.

You forgot to mention the part where the group of kids attacked him, put their hands on his throat and tried to hold him under the water....

I wonder if it's possible that the child was mimicking behavior that he saw, like an animal being shot in the head with the gun? Idk, but it is shocking that someone so young could commit such a horrendous crime.

Antisocial personality disorder. Very difficult to treat. It cannot be medicated except for secondary symptoms of depression and anxiety, for example. Personality disorders used to be called “character disorders” but since society seems to have tossed moral constructs out the window now the diagnosis is either Antisocial or Psychopathic Disorder. So yes, that boy needs Jesus Christ. May God have mercy. Thank you for an excellent video.

And the kids grandfather left a gun, unsecured, in the glove compartment of his truck and his seven year old grandson had full access to it......what demented universe do these people live in?

What's scary to me is that he killed the guy and never told anyone, most kids would have run their mouth and told someone. He killed him and went on like nothing happened. We know his feelings are off, no remorse, no feelings at all.

Thanks for the recap. First, our society needs to stop allowing children to think that they are allowed to play with anything that they can reach. That may sound harsh, but the world will always be a place of dangerous things. If a child is old enough to get into things on his or her own, the child should have already been taught many times not to touch things without permission. That sounds harsh, but we can't keep kids away from everything that could hurt them. We have to start training them from an early age not to play with things that aren't theirs. A part of that is teaching kids not to go into places where they don't belong. I knew by the time I was six years old that I wasn't supposed to go into other people's houses without permission. That this kid thought it was okay to go exploring in a stranger's home is another sign that the kid was either very poorly raised or a psychopath of some kind. Secondly, the grandfather shouldn't be charged. We allow kids to think that they can play with anything that they find, but the chances of a kid finding a gun and shooting someone this way are incredibly low unless the kid is already a psychopath of some kind. A psychopath might understand the function of a real gun that way and do what this kid did, but for a regular kid, that's very unusual. If I'm on that jury, I'm voting not guilty. Thirdly, I understand that the school can't release details of the threat made against the other kid. However, the details of that threat might be an indication of psychopathy. The authorities should be investigating that threat from the point of view that this child has a mental defect that makes him very dangerous. They may not be able to prosecute him for the crime, but he should be considered for civil commitment on a permanent basis.

This was in Texas, correct? Don't expect things to improve. The Governor just granted a full pardon to a convicted murderer of a BLM protestor.

I blame Grandpa. He left the gun where it could be found.

This is the craziest case I think I’ve heard. 7 years old and kills without a second thought and then threatens others the kid should be locked up in a psychiatric facility for life. He would definitely murder again if he was set free. And grandpa should be charged for not locking up his firearm. Just crazy! Great job Amy!

When gun owners are negligent? By not securing their weapons, they should definitely be held liable for any crime committed with their weapon. Thank you Amy.

Any society that charges 10yr old kids and younger with serious crimes, murder etc..... is a terrible vindictive society with no regard for rehabilitation and improving people. Just punishing them etc...

What makes an 8yr old commit a serious crime or specifically a violent serious crime, shoot someone dead? IMO it's a sense of injustice and anger or rage even? That's what would make a young boy do such a thing imo?

I live in MD and hear about young kids in Bmore walking around the Inner Harbor in groups fighting each other and ppl enjoying the Inner Harbor, some have stabbed/shot others... It just seems like there's no guidance/control for the youth these days, the part is it almost seems like this is how the government wants it with the ridiculous laws they put in place
